Corporate services

How disruptive / costly is it for an organisation to lose a valued member of the team due to problematic child care issues? If you are a parent you'll appreciate how work can become a distant second when little one won't eat or sleep properly and as fo making the break and going back to work...

I am now able to offer organisations a range of parental support services which may be fully or partially funded by the employer. Of course I'm also very happy to have employers recommend my services to those about to embark on or just returning from maternity leave. My objective is to settle the baby into a workable pattern and / or resolve any issue so that the parents can return to work, concentrate and be as effective and productive as they were before.

Services are designed around individual needs (both employer and employee/s),contact me to learn more or to discuss how I might be able to help.

In addition to typical corporate based parental support services I am also available for media commentary and specialist consultancy.

In my experience, with the right approach, almost all babies will happily sleep solidly through the night within 6 to 12 weeks of birth. But, how often do we hear parents bemoan their 2 year old still refusing to allow them to sleep more than 4hrs a night? It's hardly surprising these parents become overtired, worn down, unable to cope well and are prone to less than perfect judgement. It's not their fault, sleep deprevation is after all a form of torture!

Most of us have come across examples of those who've ended up giving up work and / or extending maternity leave in the hope things will get somehow better soon. If all thats needed is a few hours gentle guidance and support it seems a shame so many parents and their employers end up paying a such a heavy price for something usually so easily corrected.

The challenge to business...

...the true cost of replacing a key member of staff who leaves through not being able to cope in a demanding role as well as trying meet the demands of a problematic child care issue?

...what cost to the business of temporary cover during maternity leave, 'emergency childcare cover' absense, illness (perhaps through lack of adequate sleep), mistakes and poor decisions by those not properly rested or simply stressed through child concerns?
